Citizen Vinyl opened in October 2020 with just one record press and the mission to provide high quality vinyl albums for record labels and independent artists. To be at the heart of community is not only in our mission, it’s in our name: Citizen means much more to us than our namesake building. It’s an expression of commitment to the city we love and call home, and the musicians and labels whose projects that we are entrusted to both record and press to vinyl.

The Citizen Times building in downtown Asheville, North Carolina has been a long standing monument to both the communication and archiving of our region's events. Through the highs and lows of the years, it has always stood strong as an icon of quality and honest story-telling. In 2019, Citizen Vinyl claimed the dramatic first floor and its decorative mezzanines as the future home of a vinyl record pressing plant, as well as the third floor’s historic WWNC radio station studio, restored into Citizen Studios — a beautiful, modern analog recording studio and media lab.Citizen Vinyl—located in the historic Citizen-Times newspaper building in downtown Asheville—is an incredible specimen of the Art Moderne style whose grand civic space serves to celebrate the history of manufacturing and craft.
TOUR TIMES:
- Monday, Friday, Saturday at noon and 1:15 p.m.
- Sunday at 12:30 and 1:45 p.m.
Tours are limited to 10 guests and reservations are strongly encouraged.

TOUR DETAILS:
Tours require a minimum of 3 guests. Guests will be notified via email 48 hours in advance if this minimum has not been met. Guests will have the opportunity to 1) be rescheduled to another tour date/time; 2) purchase an additional ticket(s) to meet the minimum; or 3) be refunded for your ticket purchase.
