Reopening October 2025!
The Village Potters is dedicated to preserving the legacy of fine craft, inspiring passion, nurturing growth, and supporting sustainable careers for the next generation of clay and ceramic artists. The Village Potters Clay Center (TVPCC) was destroyed on Sept 27th 2025. We have been working tirelessly since the waters receded working toward our return planned in Oct at our new location at 44 Westgate Parkway Asheville NC 28806. Before the flood we were a thriving creative, collaborative community with a mission to offer an ideal work space and nurture a culture of freedom in creative exploration and expression. The Village Potters has four gallery showrooms attracting many visitors daily, and houses the working studios of six masterful professional potters. They currently are Sarah Wells Rolland, Judi Harwood, Maria Andrade Troya, Julia Mann, Karen Dubois, and Katie Meili Messersmith. They comprise an intentional collective of potters who share a commitment to foster an environment that encourages and supports the development and prosperity of the ceramic artist through education, experience, and community. Their goal is to support one another to reach their fullest creative potential and success in business, and demonstrate uncompromising integrity in all areas. Their work is available in their premier ceramic art gallery on site. Raising up the next generation of ceramic artists is a core tenet of The Village Potters and our education programs are extensive. There are three different spaces designated for different learning opportunities. Our fully equipped Teaching Center provides ongoing, multi-week, adult classes in wheel, hand building, and specialty classes (Raku, sculpture, surface design) for the beginning, intermediate, and advanced student.
